Offering more than 40 years of professional experience, Kurt R. Wengerter, MD, RPVI, FACS, is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon working with patients at Rockland Thoracic & Vascular Associates, with offices in Fishkill, New York, as well as in Englewood, New Jersey.
After finishing his undergraduate studies at Manhattan College in New York City, Dr. Wengerter attended medical school at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate in Brooklyn. He completed his surgical residency and vascular surgery fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
Dr. Wengerter is a former chief of vascular surgery at Albert Einstein College Hospital and also served as an associate professor at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. As an experienced vascular surgeon, he has led the advanced use of innovative endovascular techniques of atherectomy and stent placement. He also performed the first percutaneous aortic aneurysm repair at Englewood Health in Englewood, New Jersey.
