Michael L. Schwartz, MD, RVT, FACS, is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon who truly cares about the health and well-being of his patients. With more than 32 years of surgical experience, Dr. Schwartz is an excellent addition to Rockland Thoracic & Vascular Associates, with offices in Pomona, Goshen, and Fishkill, New York.

Dr. Schwartz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville before attending the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa.

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Schwartz moved to New York City to pursue his surgical residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He later continued his training at Montefiore Medical Center with a vascular surgery fellowship.

Dr. Schwartz is highly experienced in all aspects of general and vascular surgery. His areas of expertise include angioplasty, limb salvage, minimally invasive aortic aneurysm surgery, carotid stenosis, and varicose vein treatments.

In addition to his work at Rockland Thoracic & Vascular Associates, Dr. Schwartz is the Chief of Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, New York. He is the chief of the division of vascular surgery at Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York.

He has authored numerous articles and book chapters about vascular surgery. He has been named as Castle Connolly Best Vascular Surgeons for many years.
